Sonder die TD Veteranevereniging sou baie van ons tegniese prestasies, oorwinnings en mense net verdwyn het. Deur aan te sluit, dra jy by tot die bewaring van ons erfenis — vir toekomstige geslagte om te sien wie en wat die Tiffies werklik was.Jy kry én gee ondersteuning
Wanneer ’n ou kameraad swaarkry, siek is of iemand verloor, is die Vereniging daar. En wanneer dit jóú beurt is om ondersteuning te ontvang — is hulle ook daar. TDVV staan nie terug nie.Jy bly ingelig en betrokke

History of the TS Veterans Association
Ons Wortels: Die Tegniese Diens
Die Tegniese Dienskorps (TDK) was verantwoordelik vir die onderhoud, herstel en ondersteuning van militêre toerusting – van voertuie tot wapens, ingenieursmasjinerie en meer. Tiffies het in moeilike omstandighede gewerk, dikwels onder oorlogstoestande, en het ’n kernrol gespeel in die funksionering van die weermag.Met verloop van tyd het duisende mans hul vaardighede en toewyding in diens van die land gestel – in werkswinkels, op basisse en in die frontlinie.
Na Diens: ’n Behoefte aan Verbondenheid
Met die afskaal van die ou Weermag en die veranderinge ná 1994 het baie Tiffies uit diens getree – maar die band tussen hulle het gebly.Daar het ’n duidelike behoefte ontstaan om hierdie broederskap te formaliseer. So is die TD Veteranevereniging op 17 Julie 2017 amptelik gestig — ’n organisasie deur veterane, vir veterane, om kontak te behou, geskiedenis te bewaar en mekaar te ondersteun.
Wat Ons Doen
Die TDVV hou jaarlikse gedenkgeleenthede en reünies, en verskaf beperkte bystand in tye van nood.Ons help met: Eerbewyse aan afgestorwe lede Skakeling met militêre museums Herinnering aan ons trots, tegniese vaardigheid en dienslewering Die bou van ’n volhoubare gemeenskap vir huidige en toekomstige geslagte Tiffies
Ons TrotsDie Vereniging funksioneer geheel en al onafhanklik van die staat, sonder politieke invloed, en staan slegs in diens van ons mense en ons geskiedenis.Elke lid – of jy nou as weerman begin het of as adjudant-offisier of offisier afgetree het – dra by tot iets groter: die behoud van ’n trots wat nie verkoop of vergeet kan word nie.
Vandag en Vorentoe
Die TD Veteranevereniging groei steeds – met lede regoor Suid-Afrika en selfs internasionaal. Ons digitale teenwoordigheid, museumsamewerking, nuusbriewe en byeenkomste hou die vlam aan die brand.Ons eer die verlede, dien mekaar in die hede, en inspireer vir die toekoms.

”The TS Veterans Association was officially established on 17 July 2017, with the aim of preserving the legacy of the Technical Services Corps of the South African Defence Force, and building a community of camaraderie, remembrance, and support for all who served with pride as “Tiffies”.
Our Roots:
The Technical ServicesThe Technical Services Corps (TSC) was responsible for the maintenance, repair, and support of military equipment — from vehicles to weapons, engineering machinery, and more.Tiffies worked under tough conditions, often in combat zones, and played a critical role in the operational effectiveness of the military. Over time, thousands of men dedicated their skills and service to the country — in workshops, on bases, and on the front lines.
After Service:
A Need for ConnectionWith the restructuring of the former Defence Force and the changes after 1994, many Tiffies retired from service — but the bond between them remained.There was a clear need to formalise this brotherhood. Thus, the TS Veterans Association was officially founded on 17 July 2017 — an organisation by veterans, for veterans, to stay in touch, preserve history, and support one another.
What We Do
The TSVA hosts annual memorial events, reunions, and provides limited assistance in times of need.We assist with:Honouring deceased membersLiaising with military museumsRemembering our pride, technical skill, and serviceBuilding a sustainable community for current and future generations of Tiffies
Our Pride
The Association operates completely independently of the state, with no political affiliation, and exists solely in service of our people and our history.Each member — whether you started as a private or retired as a warrant officer or commissioned officer — contributes to something greater: the preservation of a legacy that cannot be sold or forgotten.
Today and Into the Future
The TS Veterans Association continues to grow — with members across South Africa and internationally.Our digital presence, museum partnerships, newsletters, and events keep the flame burning.We honour the past, serve each other in the present, and inspire future generations.
